Get to Know My Background and the Therapeutic Approach I Use

Who I Am

I am a registered psychotherapist with the International Association of Psychology and Counselling (IAPCUK), an organisation dedicated to maintaining high clinical and ethical standards.

My approach is psychodynamic, integrated with a biopsychosocial model, meaning I help clients explore the underlying, often unconscious dynamics that influence their emotions and behaviour—processes that often give rise to the thoughts they experience. I also consider how psychological, biological, and social factors interact to shape emotional experience and, in turn, overall mental well-being.

Through my training with the Institute for Psycho-Systems Analysis (IPSA), I have developed a deep understanding of how unconscious influences—such as emotional tendencies, instincts, internal conflicts, and worry—affect daily life and relationships. By bringing these influences into awareness, I help people struggling with anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, social anxiety, and lack of confidence overcome the inertia that has been holding them back, so they can experience real, lasting change and feel a sense of freedom in their lives.

The Courage to Change

Seeking therapy is a courageous and transformative step. It means acknowledging aspects of your life that feel unfulfilling, confusing, or misaligned and choosing to make meaningful changes. Real growth isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about understanding what drives them so you can move forward with clarity and purpose.

My role is to help you make sense of the parts of yourself that feel unclear or overwhelming—to provide insight, guidance, and practical exploration so you can uncover what’s keeping you restrained. The process of self-development and individuation requires focus, self-awareness, and a willingness to engage deeply—but the rewards are profound.

Therapy with Purpose: A Path to Real Change

I do not believe that therapy should be an ongoing, indefinite endeavour. Instead, my goal is to help you uncover the core psychological conflicts beneath your struggles, freeing you from suppressed or repressed instincts that may be causing frustration, anxiety, or maladaptive behaviours.

Together, we work toward authentic self-expression, emotional resilience, and a way of living that feels aligned with who you truly are.

What I Strive to Achieve

The Limitations of Cognitive-Based Therapy

Many mainstream therapeutic approaches, particularly those at the front line, focus on changing thought patterns—helping clients reframe negative thoughts or develop coping strategies. However, thoughts do not exist in isolation; they are shaped by deeper psychological tensions, unconscious conflicts, and suppressed instincts. Simply modifying these thoughts may offer temporary relief, but it does not resolve the root cause of distress.

My Approach

I take a different approach. Instead of just teaching coping mechanisms, I work with you to:

  • Uncover the unconscious conflicts and suppressed instincts that drive emotional distress.
  • Understand how recurring thoughts and emotional patterns are often driven by deeper, unconscious tensions—not simply a matter of willpower or mindset.
  • Develop a clear and stable sense of self, enabling greater psychological resilience.
  • Move beyond surface-level adjustments toward deeper self-understanding and authentic engagement with life.

I am committed to maintaining the highest professional standards, with all my clinical work supervised and regulated by the Institute for Psycho-Systems Analysis (IPSA) and the International Association of Psychology and Counselling (IAPCUK).
